Several Taylor Swift tracks have been taken down from social media videos shared by the campaign of U.S. President Donald Trump and the White House. These videos had incorporated two of the popular singer’s songs in the past week.

Neither the White House nor a representative for Taylor Swift responded immediately to requests for comments regarding this matter.

Although Taylor Swift has not recently addressed Trump directly, she did endorse his Democratic opponent, then Vice-President Kamala Harris, in 2024. During the 2020 election campaign, Swift made it clear on social media that she did not support Trump as president.

Trump, in response to Swift’s political stance, has been vocal about his dislike for her. He has expressed his strong negative feelings towards her on social media, even going as far as stating that since he expressed his hatred for her, she is no longer popular.

Various artists, including Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande, have also requested that the Trump administration refrain from using their music.

References to Iconic Taylor Swift Songs on TikTok

The Trump campaign recently showcased two Taylor Swift songs on its TikTok account, one of which creatively played on the lyrics of her songs with a caption like “Red (Donald Trump’s Version).”

In a video posted in June, the Trump campaign used Swift’s new song from Toy Story 5 titled I Knew It, I Knew You. The video depicted Trump engaging with children at the White House, dancing at a UFC match, and participating in a rally with the caption emphasizing his love for the country and its people.

This was not the first time that the Trump administration or his campaign had utilized music from the Grammy Award-winning artist in recent times.
