A young boy from Calgary who was rescued from a near-drowning incident in a river in British Columbia is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital, with his family expressing concern over the severe damage to his lungs. Paul-Angelo Warren, aged nine, was swimming and diving in the Shuswap River near Enderby on August 3 when he failed to resurface after diving underwater. Maria Warren, his mother, mentioned that bystanders at the beach acted swiftly to assist, managing to retrieve him from the water shortly after he went missing.
According to a statement from the RCMP, the boy was trapped against fallen debris by the river’s strong current before being rescued and administered CPR on the shore. Authorities suspect that he may have been submerged for up to 10 minutes. Presently, the young boy is receiving care at Vancouver Children’s Hospital, surrounded by his family. Maria emphasized the importance of being by his side constantly, ensuring that he sees her and hears her voice as soon as he regains consciousness.
