Toronto Blue Jays star player Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been cleared to return to the lineup after spending time on the injured list. He is set to play against the New York Yankees on Saturday. Guerrero sustained an injury during a game against the Yankees when he collided with George Lombard Jr., a rookie shortstop, during a play at third base. Despite the incident, Guerrero managed to score a crucial run before being forced to leave the game.

After successfully completing his concussion protocol and participating in a rehab game with single-A Dunedin, Guerrero rejoined the team on Friday. He showcased his readiness by taking batting practice and was included in the starting lineup for the upcoming game against the Yankees. In a corresponding move, the Blue Jays sent Davis Schneider to triple-A Buffalo to make room for Guerrero’s return.

Guerrero, who boasts a batting average of .263 with seven home runs and 46 RBIs, was hitting .310 in his last seven games before the unfortunate collision that led to his injury. The Blue Jays are hopeful that his return will bolster the team’s performance moving forward.
