The late billionaire Jeffrey Epstein received advice from a PR firm to steer clear of any association with then-Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson in order to improve his tarnished reputation. The advice, found in documents from the recently released Epstein files, suggested focusing on Epstein’s philanthropic endeavors and scientific support while actively avoiding being seen with the royal couple.

Specifically, the document highlighted concerns about UK media coverage linking Epstein to the “Prince Andrew/Sarah Ferguson. Bill Clinton Axis” and emphasized that distancing himself from them would aid in rebuilding his public image. The advice also addressed the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday’s agenda to discredit Prince Andrew, cautioning Epstein against any involvement that could be misconstrued as supporting the royal’s lifestyle or issues.

The document outlined a strategic plan to enhance Epstein’s image, including efforts to clean up his online presence, engage experts from Israel, and secure positive coverage from influential writers and editors. Epstein’s dedication to supporting science and tech research was cited as a valuable asset in his rehabilitation strategy, along with setting long-term goals aligned with philanthropic initiatives like the Gates Foundation’s mission to combat malaria.

Despite these efforts, Epstein faced further legal troubles in Manhattan related to child sex trafficking charges in 2019, ultimately leading to his death by suicide while in custody. Meanwhile, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson faced renewed scrutiny for their connections to Epstein after evidence surfaced of continued correspondence with him post-claims of cutting ties. The fallout resulted in Andrew losing his titles and Fergie being distanced by several charities due to the scandal.
