The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) has decided not to penalize Fallon Sherrock for her actions during her recent World Championship match against Dave Chisnall. Sherrock playfully mimicked an incident involving her former partner, Cameron Menzies, who got into trouble for striking a drinks table earlier in the week.
Menzies, left injured after venting his frustration on a table following his loss to Charlie Manby, dated Sherrock for four years before their amicable split earlier this year. PDC’s chief executive, Matt Porter, emphasized support for Menzies in response to his post-game behavior, highlighting the importance of player well-being.
Both Sherrock and Menzies were eliminated in the first round of the tournament. Sherrock struggled with her doubles against Chisnall, resulting in a 3-0 defeat. Menzies, the 26th seed, also fell short in a close match against Manby, citing personal challenges following the recent passing of his uncle.
Chisnall acknowledged the competitiveness of his match against Sherrock, noting that her accuracy with doubles could have altered the outcome. He advanced to face Ricardo Pietreczko in the next round, with the final first-round matches scheduled for Friday featuring players like Josh Rock and Nathan Aspinall.
Young talent Beau Greaves will kick off her World Championship journey against 22nd seed Daryl Gurney, with the winner set to meet Callan Rydz in the second round. The tournament preview highlights the defending champion, Luke Littler, and the upcoming rivalry with Luke Humphries, offering insights from key contenders and experts in the darts community.
