IMPOSE TOI clinched his first Grade 1 victory in the Howden Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot, solidifying his position as a top stayer. Trained by Nicky Henderson, the seven-year-old had previously triumphed in the Grade Two Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury, defeating Strong Leader.

In the recent race, Impose Toi widened the gap to a length and a quarter over Strong Leader, showcasing significant progress despite facing a 6lb weight difference. The third spot went to Honesty Policy, the 11-4 favorite also owned by JP McManus.

Following the win, Ladbrokes adjusted Impose Toi’s odds to 5-1 for the Stayers’ Hurdle at Cheltenham in March. Henderson expressed satisfaction with the performance, praising the flawless execution by jockey Nico de Boinville.

McManus, delighted with the victory, looks forward to the upcoming King George VI Chase at Kempton Park on Boxing Day, aiming for his first win since 1978. Trainer Willie Mullins is also optimistic about the race, setting the stage for an exciting competition at Kempton.
