Malin + Goetz, a popular beauty brand, has entered administration, leading to the closure of all seven of its stores in the UK. These stores are located in various areas of London, including Seven Dials, Soho, Spitalfields, Islington, Canary Wharf, Battersea Power Station, and Borough Yards, affecting over 70 jobs.
The company has temporarily halted online orders, with a message on their website informing customers of the pause and assuring them of a swift return to service. Despite this setback, customers can still purchase Malin + Goetz products from third-party retailers such as Liberty, John Lewis, and Space NK.
In a statement to TheIndustry.beauty, a spokesperson for Malin+Goetz expressed regret over the closure of the UK stores and the resulting job losses, attributing the decision to extensive business reviews and the absence of viable alternatives.
Although the website is expected to resume operations after a brief maintenance period, the duration remains uncertain. Malin + Goetz, founded in New York in 2004 by Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz, initially offered a small range of products suitable for all skin types but has since diversified into fragrances, body care, and other beauty segments.
