Luke Littler has shared that his upcoming opponent, Mensur Suljovic, predicted their meeting in the third round even before the commencement of the World Darts Championship. Littler, aged 18, advanced in the tournament by defeating Welsh player and NHS worker, David Davies, in straight sets.

With Gerwyn Price, a contender in his draw, eliminated by Wesley Plaisier, Littler remains a strong contender for victory at Alexandra Palace. Suljovic, on the other hand, secured a win against Joe Cullen in a tense afternoon match.

Cullen expressed frustration over Suljovic’s slow pace during their match, accusing him of ‘cheating’ on social media. Despite the criticism, Suljovic remained unfazed and focused on the competition.

Before the tournament began, Suljovic had anticipated a showdown with Littler. Following Littler’s triumph over Davies, he disclosed receiving a brief message from the 53-year-old Suljovic, expressing anticipation for their encounter.

In a post-match interview, Littler discussed the message he received from Suljovic and expressed readiness for the upcoming match. Meanwhile, Cullen displayed dissatisfaction with Suljovic’s speed during their game, leading to a tense post-match interaction.

Littler’s journey in the championship has been favorable, with potential threats like Cullen and Ryan Joyce being eliminated by other players. The path to the final appears more promising for Littler, especially after Chris Dobey, another potential quarter-final adversary, was defeated.

The PDC World Darts Championship commenced on December 11, with fans able to watch every match live exclusively through Sky’s Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle.
