Freeview, the popular television service, has announced significant changes to its TV guide, including channel repositioning and a rebranding. The most notable update is the closure of Talk (Ch 280), a British news channel known for debate, opinion-led journalism, and politics, featuring presenters like Jeremy Kyle, Mark Dolan, and Kevin O’Sullivan.
To access Talk, viewers will now have to stream the service through the official Talk app or other platforms such as Samsung TVs, Roku devices, and LG screens. Additionally, Freeview has updated Wedotv Big Stories on channel 275 to Wedotv and made changes to the positions of Kids content channels like Ketchup TV, Ketchup Too, and Cartoon Classics.
Ketchup TV has moved from Ch 209 to Ch 208, Ketchup Too from Ch 210 to Ch 209, and Cartoon Classics from Ch 214 to Ch 210. Freeview confirmed that these changes will take effect on 25th June 2026. The service noted that channels are continuously evolving on Freeview, with individual channels deciding to relocate, add, or remove channels to offer diverse content to audiences.
To ensure that your TV is updated with the correct channels, Freeview advises users to access the settings and perform a retune. By retuning, viewers can keep their channels and TV Guide up to date. The steps to retune your TV include pressing the menu button on your box or TV remote control, selecting ‘set-up’, ‘installation’, or ‘update’, choosing ‘first-time installation’, and saving the found channels if prompted.
