Dennis Haskins, famous for his role as principal Richard Belding in the popular TV series “Saved by the Bell,” has passed away at the age of 75, as confirmed by his agent Jay Schachter. Described as a tragic loss, Schachter expressed deep admiration for Haskins, highlighting his genuine love for his fans and his amicable personality. Known for his iconic catchphrase “Hey, hey, hey, what is going on here?” as the lovable principal of Bayside High, Haskins gained recognition for his role that started on Disney Channel’s “Good Morning, Miss Bliss” and continued on “Saved by the Bell” from 1989 to 1993. He later reprised his role in “Saved by the Bell: The New Class” and appeared in a sketch with former co-stars on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” in 2015. Haskins’ co-stars, including Elizabeth Berkley, Mario Lopez, and Tiffani Thiessen, have taken to social media to express their condolences and share fond memories of their time working with him. Haskins, who had a prolific television and film career spanning several decades, made his onscreen debut in a 1979 episode of “The Dukes of Hazzard” and went on to appear in various successful shows and movies, such as “Mad Men,” “Hot in Cleveland,” “New Girl,” and Seth MacFarlane’s “A Million Ways to Die in the West.”
