A beloved dog walker tragically lost his life in Uxbridge after being fatally stabbed, leaving his employer and community in mourning. Wayne Broadhurst, aged 49 and a council worker, was the victim of the attack on Monday evening, with two others sustaining injuries, including a 14-year-old boy.
The managing director of Greener Ealing Ltd, a provider of environmental services to Ealing Council, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Mr. Broadhurst, describing him as a valued member of their team. Katarina Pohancenikova conveyed condolences to Wayne’s family, friends, and coworkers during this challenging period.
In a statement, Pohancenikova stated, “Wayne’s untimely passing is a significant blow to our team. He was highly regarded and dedicated, contributing meaningfully to our work and the community we serve. We urge respect for the privacy of Wayne’s family as they cope with this tragic news.” Greener Ealing shared a picture of Wayne in a Liverpool supporter’s hat and the company’s high-visibility gear.
Safi Dawood, a 22-year-old individual, faces charges of murder, attempted murder (two counts), and possession of a weapon after the violent incident. Dawood, an Afghan national who arrived in the UK in 2020 via a lorry, is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court soon.
Jaswant Narwal, Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS London North, announced the formal charges against Dawood, emphasizing the diligent collaboration between the Crown Prosecution Service and the Metropolitan Police Service in the investigation of the tragic event.
