Elon Musk and Donald Trump’s once-strained relationship seems to have taken a positive turn as Musk publicly expressed gratitude toward the president. The tech billionaire had previously distanced himself from Trump, causing speculation about the status of their friendship, especially considering their past collaboration during Trump’s presidential campaign.
In a recent Twitter post, Musk thanked President Trump for his contributions to America and the global community, indicating a potential reconciliation between the two. This gesture followed Musk’s attendance at a White House dinner for Saudi Arabian Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The public response to Musk’s message was significant, with many noting the abrupt shift in his stance towards Trump. Earlier, Musk had made controversial remarks linking Trump to the Epstein Files, which stirred controversy. The rift between Musk and Trump had been building up since Trump’s election, with reported clashes between them, particularly after Musk’s departure from a government position on May 30.
After leaving his government role, Musk openly criticized Trump’s policies on social media, denouncing what he called a wasteful spending bill. Despite this, Musk’s discontent with Trump persisted, leading him to launch the American Party to challenge the Republicans, prompting further backlash from Trump.
However, recent sightings of Musk and Trump together at a memorial event in September suggested a possible reconciliation between the two figures. Their brief interaction at the event hinted at a potential thaw in their previously strained relationship.
