Gemma Atkinson and Gorka Marquez have shared their intentions to have a modest wedding once their children are older. The couple, who are parents to Mia and Tiago, have decided to wait until their little ones are older before tying the knot.
Although they had initially planned to marry after their daughter Mia was old enough, their son Tiago arrived, prompting them to hold off on the wedding plans. The couple is considering either Manchester or Spain as potential wedding locations.
During their podcast, Lost In Translation, Gemma expressed their desire to marry, mentioning their previous plans to do so sooner. Gemma explained that they wanted Mia to be involved in the wedding, but with Tiago also in the picture, they are leaning towards a more low-key celebration.
Gorka mentioned the idea of simply signing the necessary documents and having a small gathering afterward, as they both prefer a less elaborate affair. Gemma confessed that she has never been keen on a traditional white wedding and prefers a more intimate celebration.
Gemma recently revealed in a heartfelt letter dedicated to her late father on Father’s Day that the thought of getting married without him is challenging. She expressed her hesitation to let go of her family name and how it affects her decision to delay the wedding.
Discussing her future with Gorka, Gemma believes her father would have approved of him and their children. She shared her certainty that her father would have adored Gorka and cherished their grandchildren, just as he did with her.
