The ongoing conflict in Iran and the Middle East is causing concern among families in the UK. Many are wondering about the potential impact on their finances, communities, and national security. My primary focus has consistently been on providing calm and rational leadership in the best interest of the nation.

In times like these, what the country needs most is seriousness, not political maneuvers. While opposition parties may try to undermine the UK’s global standing, my Labour government is dedicated to safeguarding British citizens both domestically and internationally.

The global landscape remains unpredictable, but the proactive measures we have implemented since assuming office have positioned our country well to navigate these challenges. Notably, the UK’s defense budget is experiencing a significant increase, the largest since the Cold War era, ensuring our armed forces are adequately supported.

Economically, we have departed from past failed policies like austerity and are now prioritizing workers’ rights and bolstering energy security through investments in clean energy. Our decisions have led to six interest rate cuts, reducing mortgage expenses for millions of people.

To address the daily financial burdens faced by many, we are taking steps to assist with childcare and energy costs, freezing prescription charges and rail fares, and raising the minimum wage. Regardless of the obstacles, supporting working individuals and their families remains a top priority for me.

I understand that concerns persist about the potential impact of the conflict on the cost of living. However, I want to assure the public that they have a Labour government on their side, committed to safeguarding their families and serving the national interest.
