Luke Littler has made history by becoming the fourth man to reach three consecutive finals. He secured his back-to-back world titles by defeating Gian van Veen 7-1, winning £1 million in prize money and the prestigious Sid Waddell Trophy.

After this victory, the 18-year-old has claimed the top spot in the world rankings, while Van Veen moves up to number three globally and becomes the top-ranked player in the Netherlands.

In the semi-finals, ‘The Nuke’ defeated Ryan Searle 6-1, while Gian van Veen, in his first World Championship Final and second major final, triumphed over Gary Anderson in a thrilling 6-3 match.

Despite Van Veen’s pre-match advantage, Littler dominated with seven consecutive set wins, boasting an average of 106.02. His impressive performance included hitting 16 180s, 19 140s, and a 46% success rate on doubles.

The World Darts Championship Final has concluded, but the Premier League is set to begin in a month. The lineup for the eight-player roadshow will be revealed on Monday afternoon, featuring champions like Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, Gian van Veen, and Michael van Gerwen.

Luke Littler’s achievement of winning two PDC world titles puts him in an elite category, with only Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen having more titles than him.

In a post-match interview, Gian van Veen gracefully acknowledged Littler’s superiority, expressing disappointment in his performance but pride in reaching the final and achieving a higher ranking.

The tournament saw a total of 1127 180s, with £1.1 million donated to Prostate Cancer UK by sponsors. Littler paid tribute to Anthony Joshua’s friends and quoted the former champion in his victory celebration.

Luke Littler’s success in the World Darts Championship Final marks a historic moment, as he becomes the first player in a decade to secure back-to-back titles. His dominance was evident throughout the match, culminating in a 7-1 victory over Gian van Veen.
