Topshop is making a comeback on the UK high street through a new collaboration with John Lewis. After closing its standalone stores in 2021, the popular fashion brand will now be featured in all 32 department stores of John Lewis, as well as on their website. Additionally, Topman products will be available in seven of these stores.

This reintroduction will showcase a curated collection of 130 highly sought-after pieces from Topshop, including their iconic denim items. The announcement of this partnership was made last year following successful pop-up events at various John Lewis locations. This move is part of John Lewis’ significant £800 million investment in new brands for the upcoming spring/summer season.

Topshop and its sibling brand, Topman, had vanished from UK high streets after their former owner Arcadia went into administration in 2021. The brands were subsequently acquired by ASOS, which initially sold Topshop products online. Topshop made its physical return to London’s Oxford Street last year with a launch at the renowned department store, Liberty.

Michelle Wilson, the managing director of Topshop, expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating that it aims to provide customers with convenient access to their favorite Topshop and Topman items. She highlighted the ability for customers to see, touch, and purchase the products on the same day, emphasizing the high level of service that customers can expect from this partnership with John Lewis.

The reentry of Topshop into the market aligns with London Fashion Week and will be followed by a series of events, including a takeover at Piccadilly Circus in London and activations across the UK. This strategic move by John Lewis reflects its ongoing efforts to drive growth and transformation under the leadership of Peter Ruis.

Ruis, the managing director of John Lewis, emphasized the brand’s commitment to enhancing its fashion offerings to support its current strategy. He described the partnership with Topshop as a pivotal moment in advancing John Lewis’ fashion ambitions and establishing itself as a leading style authority on the British high street.

In addition to the reintroduction of Topshop, John Lewis is introducing 14 new fashion, jewelry, and accessory labels for the upcoming season. This expansion underscores the retailer’s dedication to offering a diverse and exciting range of products to its customers.
