A mother of four was fatally shot by her former boyfriend, described as “obsessed,” who abandoned her in a shopping center parking lot. Savannah Kulla, aged 29, was tragically discovered deceased outside a shopping mall in Brampton, Ontario. Her ex-partner, Anthony Deschepper, 38, was accused of leaving her there after kidnapping Savannah and their one-year-old daughter. Thankfully, the child was found unharmed with relatives who reported that Deschepper had left the baby with them before disappearing. Law enforcement promptly issued an alert and launched a search for the ex-partner.
Local authorities, along with Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit, located Deschepper at a gas station in Niagara Falls around 2:30 a.m. the following morning. An encounter between Deschepper and officers resulted in him being fatally shot by a police officer. Despite efforts by paramedics, Deschepper was declared dead at the scene, with a post-mortem examination scheduled for the day.
A firearm was discovered at the scene, though there was no evidence that Deschepper had fired it. Another individual, associated with Deschepper but not identified, was apprehended at the scene. Allegedly, this person was driving the vehicle that Deschepper had been using.
Karen, Savannah’s grieving mother, revealed that her daughter had recently ended the relationship with Deschepper due to his obsessive behavior. Reflecting on her daughter’s tragic death, Karen expressed her devastation and described Savannah as a dedicated mother who cherished her children above all else.
Savannah and Deschepper shared a one-year-old child, while Savannah’s three other sons are currently under the care of their biological father. A fundraising page on GoFundMe was established by one of Savannah’s childhood friends to support her children in the wake of the tragedy, highlighting Savannah’s deep love and commitment to her family.
