Donald Trump has finally spoken out regarding the release of a significant number of emails and documents associated with Jeffrey Epstein, where his name appears numerous times. Following the publication of these files, the US President has maintained a relatively low profile, notably avoiding questions from the media. Reports suggest that Trump has reached out to Republican lawmakers, urging them to retract their support for a petition seeking further document disclosures.

In a recent development, Trump announced that he has directed top law enforcement officials to investigate connections between various individuals, including former President Bill Clinton, and Epstein. A meeting in the White House Situation Room was convened with Colorado Republican Lauren Boebert, who had backed the petition for document release, along with Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI director Kash Patel.

Furthermore, Arizona Democrat Adelita Grijalva, who had been delayed from being sworn in, took the oath and endorsed the petition, leading to its advancement for a House vote. Trump took to Truth Social to accuse Democrats of reviving the “Epstein Hoax” to divert attention from their failures, emphasizing that Epstein’s association primarily concerns Democrats.

In another post, Trump reiterated his call for an investigation into Epstein’s ties with figures such as Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, and others, insinuating a Democratic-led cover-up. Among the documents released were emails where Epstein mentioned Trump’s interactions with Virginia Giuffre, although denying any involvement in massages.

As the push for the full release of Epstein files progresses, uncertainties remain about the bill’s passage through the Senate and potential presidential approval. Trump faces decisions on how to handle the bill, with potential repercussions for either signing or vetoing it. Absent from public engagements, Trump is set to travel to Mar-a-Lago later today.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has criticized Democrats for selectively leaking emails to tarnish Trump’s reputation.
